This homeowner in Clevedon wanted to transform the property’s exterior and improve energy efficiency at the same time. The existing exterior walls featured ageing render and dated cladding, leaving the house looking tired and uneven, which is common with older properties.
The brief was to remove the old finishes and create a clean, uniform look using a durable monocouche render system. Our Approach – One Coat Monocouche Render and External Insulation Systems

Existing rendered surfaces were prepared and primed using PRB Accrofix. A reinforcement mesh was applied, followed by a premium one coat monocouche render. This pre-mixed render is spray applied, weather resistant, and designed for long-run durability.
The existing cladding was removed and replaced with 50mm EPS external insulation boards, securely fixed to the masonry using adhesive and mechanical fixings. These insulating materials brought the façade flush and eliminated uneven detail. A basecoat with mesh was applied before finishing with a lightweight monocouche render chosen for its aesthetic appeal, flexibility, and reliable performance in Somerset weather conditions.
