The Brief

This Portishead project was one of our most complex jobs to date, combining a new build extension with a full renovation of the existing property. New sections of the house were built from scratch, while the existing painted render on the older parts needed a complete refresh. New garden retaining walls and a striking set of steps were also built as part of the project, giving us a huge variety of walls, corners, angles, and heights to render. The homeowners wanted a crisp, modern, uniform finish that would tie the whole property together, new build and existing structure alike, along with two double garages and every garden wall on the plot.

Our Solution

To achieve a durable, consistent, dirt-repellent finish across every part of this Portishead property, we used a full, approved Ecorend system build-up:

  • Ecorend S10 Primer
  • Ecorend X32 Basecoat
  • Full reinforcement mesh
  • Ecorend SR15 Silicone Render in Chalk White

This gives a strong, flexible, breathable render finish that looks sharp and stays cleaner for longer, ideal for a property so close to the coast in Portishead.

How We Did It

Given the scale and complexity of this render project, full house, two double garages, garden walls, retaining walls, and brand new steps, we worked methodically across every section:

  1. Protected all surrounding surfaces with full masking and sheeting
  2. Installed corner and edge beading throughout, including around the many corners, angles, and varying wall heights on this property
  3. Applied S10 Primer to prepare both the new-build and the existing painted substrates
  4. Sprayed the X32 basecoat, embedding full reinforcement mesh for strength across every wall
  5. Rendered the double garages, garden walls, retaining walls, and new steps to match the main house exactly
  6. Applied the coloured primer to enhance adhesion and colour consistency
  7. Finished with the SR15 silicone top coat in Chalk White, sprayed for a smooth, even appearance across the whole property
  8. Full clean-down and removal of protection

The Result

This was a standout render project for us in Portishead. The finished property now has:
